Summary (Goodreads)
A Diabolic is ruthless. A Diabolic is powerful. A Diabolic has a single task: Kill in order to protect the person you’ve been created for. Nothing else.

For Nemesis, that person is Sidonia, heir to the galactic Senate. The two grew up side by side, and there’s no one Nemesis wouldn’t kill to keep her safe. But when the power-mad Emperor summons Sidonia to the Imperial Court as a hostage, there is only one way for Nemesis to protect Sidonia.

She must become her.

Now one of the galaxy’s most dangerous weapons is masquerading in a world of corrupt politicians and two-faced Senators’ children, and Nemesis must find within herself the one thing she’s been told she doesn’t have—humanity. With the Empire beginning to fracture and rebellion looming, that could be the one thing that saves her and the Empire itself.

Review:

While it was slow in the beginning, The Diabolic pulled through with the end because now there was a lot of story-line. S.J. Kincaid written this book well and its a good thing this isn't a standalone anymore! Even before the book came out I had a feeling I was going to enjoy the book! While it may be a slow starter it was definitely a hard book to put down after especially with the concept. Left me asking more questions after finishing it.

The Diabolic was a very complex world building that she has built. Nemesis is one strong characters who can kick some a**. She is designed to be a killing machine with no emotions. You would think of not liking her but that is not true. She is destined to be bond to one person and protect them. Nemesis` bond with Sidonia is interesting to see but when she is sent to the imperial court is when all the book really begins when she impersonates Sidonia. There is even a love interest!!

It was great seeing this world come to life. Kincaid brought together an excellent fantasy novel that has political intrigue and lots of drama! If you are looking for a book you cannot put down this is the book you need to get! Each character is unique and I`m already looking forward to the sequel for this series!
