Armchair BEA: Blogging Q&A (Day 3)

Here are a few tips from one blogger to another!

I recommend that you be honest when you are blogging and be comfortable with who you are. There was a time that I wanted to keep my identity away from the public, but I am glad I didn't because that person is not the real me. I connected with so many people who like the same thing I do and their blog succeeded. Tell your story !!

Be sure to not get caught up with trying to keep up with what other bloggers are doing on their blogs. Blogging to me is a hobby that I enjoy and at the same time becoming friends with bloggers around the world. Even join in Follow Fridays because you can write about your experiences about a certain topic. Don't stress out about not making a post in time and just have fun!

Like yesterday's post, media is very important to becoming a blogger. I find that through Twitter you are able to become friends with the authors because they are available on the internet! There are Twitter chats happening where you can ask them questions which is amazing! Authors are amazing people who care about the readers and bloggers! I've gotten to know other bloggers through this process, even people in my city who are book lovers just like I am.

There are many ways to interact with your followers. When I first got noticed, it was through giveaways. Giveaways are a way to attract people to your blog. Even write about current topics that are not discussed around the blogging community. Comment on other peoples blogs when you do memes or even Armchair BEA!!

5. ARCs

When starting out I didn't even know what ARCs where or even where you could get them! Then slowly with help and lots of researching I was able to connect with the publishers and be on their bloggers lists for when they send them out. Even start joining networks where you can find e-ARCs (ex. Netgalley) is a great website that I use all the time and its easier for me to read on since some publishers in the States don't send to Canada. Before you email the publicist write a paragraph about yourself with your stats from your blog (unique followers, # of followers, where you post your reviews, and total views.

These are a few that I recommend! If you have any put it down in the comments!

Armchair BEA: Social Media (Day 2)

Social Media

I use social media a lot as a blogger because it  means to connect with other bloggers, readers and friends across the globe. Currently I'm using Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and my blog as ways to help readers look for their next book. I post all my reviews on the internet on stores sites (Amazon, Chapters Indigo, and Goodreads. If you are starting off as a new blogger I recommend you for sure make connections with authors and publishers on Twitter etc.

When I started blogging I didn't know what to do so I went to get help through social media and some other bloggers were able to help me get on my feet and even start giveaways! Check out my media outlets on the right!!

About NOWHERE BUT HERE: An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both. Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down. No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.     NOWHERE BUT HERE Trailer:

Fall with Me (Wait for You #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Pages: 384
Genre: Romance
Publisher: Avon Books/HarperCollins Canada
Release Date: March 31, 2015
Buy: Amazon| Chapters Indigo| Kobo|
*Received an e-ARC from the publisher for an honest review*

Summary (Goodreads)

Jennifer L. Armentrout, New York Times bestselling author of the Wait for You series, delivers a new novel of first love, second chances, and scorching chemistry between an artistic bartender and the tough, sexy cop who's determined to win her Roxy's loved Reece Anders since she was fifteen, so when the straitlaced cop finally surrendered to a steamy encounter years later, Roxy hoped he'd fall for her, too. He didn't. Or that's what she's always believed. But then Reece storms back into her life when the man who injured her childhood friend is out of prison and wanting to make amends—something Roxy cannot do.

The last thing she wants is to go there with Reece again, but he's determined to prove to her that he's exactly what she needs. Especially when a sick creep starts messing with her. But what's more dangerous to Roxy—a psycho after her or the past that refuses to let go and allow her to open up her heart again?

Fall with Me is another great read that Jennifer L. Armentrout has all her fans falling in love with! I will read any book she writes because this one was addicting! I am definitely a JLA addict because you can never read enough of her books or own them! Fall with Me is the fourth book in the Wait for You series and I recommend you read them all because we get to see Roxy and Reese's story. I already had a good feeling. It was also great to see all my favorite past characters again in this book!!

What I like most about this series is how you can connect with the characters so easily and laugh with them! Roxy our main character is a bartender at Mona's (Stay With Me- where we got her introduction) and see the tension between her and Reese. Roxy has been in love with him since she was fifteen years old, but is not ready to be hurt. When something happens between them a year ago she starts to run away from him. Reese is one hot cop! Right from the beginning you can feel the romantic tension that you are rooting for them to get together!! Roxy also has to deal with the past with her childhood best friend, also with the twist of a criminal who is after women.

The characters in the book were strong and real. Roxy was independent, a great worker, friend and a daughter. Everything about this book made me happy! It was steamy and the chemistry between the characters has to be one of my favorites of this series. Jennifer L. Armentrout is a brilliant writer who knows how to make her readers addicted to her books! If you have read the rest of the series then read this book immediately. I am excited to see what the next book will bring!!

Cover Reveal: Guyliner by J. Leigh Bailey

Title: Guyliner
Author: j. leigh bailey
Release Date: November 10th, 2015
Publisher: Spencer Hill Contemporary

Seventeen year old Conner works his butt off to maintain the Golden Boy persona he’s created. He has the grades, the extracurriculars, the athletics, the perfect girlfriend, and a part-time job at his dad’s shop. He does everything that’s expected of him and plans every detail to ensure he gets the college scholarships that will be his ticket out of the podunk town where he lives. The last thing he needs is an unexpected attraction to Graham, an eyeliner-wearing soccer phenom from St. Louis, who makes him question his choices, his dreams, and his sexuality. Sure, he’d noticed good-looking boys before—that doesn't have to mean anything, right?—after all, he’s got a girlfriend. There’s no room on the agenda for a relationship with Graham. But the harder he fights his feelings for Graham the clearer it becomes that attraction doesn't always follow the rules.

And when family pressures, bad luck, and rumors threaten to derail his carefully laid plans Connor must face the hardest question of all – does he even want the future he’s fighting so hard to create?

Connor rushed into the locker room already unzipping his duffle bag. The Student Council meeting had run behind schedule, making him late for practice. Coach Petrewski didn’t mind his athletes being involved in other activities, but he did expect that if it came to a scheduling conflict, baseball would take precedence. Connor whipped around a bay of lockers and collided with someone. As they fell to the floor in a tangle of arms and legs, Connor twisted his body so he hit the floor first. A sharp elbow knocked into his cheek and he hit his head against the tiled floor.
“Ow! Man, I’m sorry. Are you okay?” He shook his head to clear his vision and he got a look at the person he’d run into. Ice blue eyes rimmed with thick black eyeliner stared down at him.
“Crap!” Connor tried to jerk into a sitting position but Graham’s lanky body draped awkwardly over his. He stopped moving and stared at the other boy. Every cell in his body vibrated. It was like something out of a chick flick. Time stood still and he expected music to swell at any minute, a violin concerto to signify that that this was a Moment. A capital M Moment.
He swallowed hard and tried to moisten his dry mouth.
Graham didn’t speak, apparently caught in the same spell.
He didn’t know how long they lay there, just looking at each other, neither moving. It could have been seconds, minutes or days. What he did know was that, no matter how terrified the thought made him, Connor didn’t want the moment to end.

99 Days by Katie Cotugno

Title: 99 Days
Author: Katie Cotugno
Pages: 384
Genre: Young Adult
Publisher: HarperTeen/ Balzer + Bray
Release Date: April 21, 2015
Buy: Amazon| Chapters Indigo| Kobo| B&N

Summary (Goodreads)

Day 1: Julia Donnelly eggs my house my first night back in Star Lake, and that’s how I know everyone still remembers everything—how I destroyed my relationship with Patrick the night everything happened with his brother, Gabe. How I wrecked their whole family. Now I’m serving out my summer like a jail sentence: Just ninety-nine days till I can leave for college, and be done.

Day 4: A nasty note on my windshield makes it clear Julia isn’t finished. I’m expecting a fight when someone taps me on the shoulder, but it’s just Gabe, home from college and actually happy to see me. “For what it’s worth, Molly Barlow,” he says, “I’m really glad you’re back.”

Day 12: Gabe got me to come to this party, and I’m actually having fun. I think he’s about to kiss me—and that’s when I see Patrick. My Patrick, who’s supposed to be clear across the country. My Patrick, who’s never going to forgive me.

This was one whirlwind of a book! This is Katie Cotugno second book and it did not disappoint since I pretty much devoured it. As many of you know I fell in love with her debut How to Love which was amazing, but 99 Days is definitely up there as well. It was definitely different of how the story was told since there was 99 chapters to explain what Molly has gone through. Plus the cover is very pretty!

I immediately fell in love with Gabe from the start since he was so sweet and plain lovable from the beginning. The romance I felt was all over the place since even my heart was torn between Gabe and Patrick (who are both brothers). It begins with Molly's house being egged by Julia Donnelly and her mom is a best selling author all about what happened to Molly last summer. Now she has returned for the summer and deals with what happens. The book does deal with cheating and a love triangle, and I did like how it featured it in a different angle and how this town now looks at her as a slut.

Molly was only 17 when this happens and I did like Gabe probably better than Patrick and she did have a choice and at times it was heartbreaking when she had to make these decisions. She was mistreated very badly when she tries to come back. Katie Cotugno is a great writer and knows how to get you invested with her characters because you can feel Molly's frustration during some scenes. Even though at times the characters made some bad decisions it turned even more complicated and I wouldn't want to be in her shoes. One of the brothers  Patrick was her first love and the other was who she had her first night with but if you read the book you can see there was chemistry before.

One of the reasons I felt the book was undealt with was the ending because it leaving you hanging and feeling what is going to happen next. But this is a standalone novel so it left it open (so hopefully Katie will create a sequel one day). Overall, 99 Days was a good read full of heartbreaks and enjoyable to read. This contemporary novel was a fast quick read that was full of drama and I am excited for any of Katie's books that will be coming in the near future.

Hardwired EXCERPT:

We descended into the smoky darkness of the top floor of the club. I embraced the noise, hoping to drown out the thoughts reeling through my mind.
I led us out to the dance floor, bringing us deep into the crowd through throngs of people gyrating to an especially popular Rihanna remix. I stopped and moved to face him, but he stilled me. His strong hand gripped my hip and pulled me back slightly until our bodies were flush with each other. The motion was so fluid and effortless, as if he was simply reuniting us to where we should have been all night. Together.
In an instant, my body melted into his. Everything felt right in his arms. The pounding base guided my movements as I began to sway to the beat of the music reverberating through my body. My muscles relaxed, and I got lost in the moment, in Blake.
The crowd was tight, but I didn’t care. All I could feel was Blake’s hands on me. In sync with the song, I pressed back into him, feeling a wild frenzy to be close to him, to feel that physical contact I’d been craving for days now. The song came to a close and merged into the next, slightly changing our rhythm and bringing us even closer. His erection became more pronounced, pressing against my ass, silently demanding what we both wanted. Arousal prickled my skin and my head fell back. His arm circled my waist and he kissed my neck. A hot, open-mouthed kiss that had my head spinning. Alcohol maybe, but more likely that drug that was Blake was taking over.
He spun me around to face him. Before he could speak, I grabbed him by the jacket and pulled him to me. Crushing my mouth onto his, I kissed him with a wild hunger. He met me full force. Our tongues tangled and I pulled him closer. He slipped his hand under the tight elastic of my dress, cupping my ass and grazing the edge of my panties. I moaned into his mouth, forgetting myself and our surroundings. I wanted to climb him right there among the hundreds of other hot, sweaty, and sexually charged people.
He growled a little as he pulled away. The lack of connection was abrupt, leaving me bereft, but the discomfort of not being connected was soon derailed by the knowledge that I was being led from the dance floor and down a hallway away from the chaos that once surrounded us.
We traveled farther until the hallway split. On the left, a tall thickly-built man stood guard near a door. Blake approached the bouncer and pressed some bills into his hand, who nodded toward the door. We entered what appeared to be another private VIP area. An ambient light filled the room, which was quite large and entirely unoccupied. Dark red leather couches lined the walls along two sides, and along another, a private bar lit up with everything a good party might need.
“What is this?”
Blake closed the door behind us and wasted no time pinning me to it.

“This is where I’m going to fuck you without interruptions.”
